Procedure when play is suspended by the Committee (Rule 6-8b) during competitions
When play is suspended by the Committee or its Authorised Representative, if the players in a match or group are between the play of two holes, they shall not resume play until the Committee or its Representative has ordered a resumption of play. If they are in the process of playing a hole, they may continue providing they do so without delay. If they choose to continue they shall discontinue either before or immediately after completing the hole and shall not resume until the Committee or its Representative has ordered a resumption of play.
If you decide to cease play during play of a hole, please ensure that you mark the position of your golf ball before picking it up.
The penalty for breach of rule 6-8b is disqualification
Procedure for resumption of play
The signal for resumption of play will be THREE (3) short blasts on the siren
If play is suspended during a competition and cannot be resumed, then if 60% of the competitors have completed their round the competition result will stand.
